The cobblestone can be replaced with any block.īuild this on all 4 sides of your castle using cobblestone, wood, or both!Ī half-buried structure, it has the conveniences of underground shelters with the provision for windows which double as above-ground firing ports. To make it look good you can extend out your cube and add blocks or slabs on every second block. One of the major differences between the castle and the cube is that the castle is supposed to actually look good. This type of building is recommended for a player with large amounts of resources at their disposal.Įssentially the cube, except it has battlements containing (imaginary) snipers and cannons. Be able to do this for the entire length of the wall to the next corner, or minimally to the halfway point between the two towers. These towers, if possible, should protrude from the corners so that you can clearly see and shoot anything near your wall. This is to help keep your walls clean of mobs. In addition, you will want to build guard towers in each corner of the compound. You may also wish to build a secondary fortification inside as well as a real-world castle (see topic below), just in case of a breach. This means your farms, houses and any other buildings you have will be protected. This will surround your entire settlement. This consists of a large fortified wall with an overhang to keep spiders out, as well as a wet or dry moat (optional). This is the best choice if you wish to create a permanent base. You can make a cube house which is a shelter when you come back from mining or fighting, for example. The most common type of starter house is a hole dug into a hill or mountain (similar to the Cave House). They can be made of any material, in any biome, anywhere. Not pictured to the right of the shot was a walled medieval city that featured a hotel, garment shop, tavern, and royal chambers.Īll of this was about a month's worth of work for 3-4 people.A basic house is anything from a 5×5 square to a castle the size of a Minecraft world. We started building a post-apocalyptic city in there too. The entrance was from the aforementioned underground city. The building in the bottom right was Wayne Manor.Īlso, since you couldn't go to the nether back then in multiplayer, we actually recreated a HUGE swath of nether underneath the water to the right of that picture. The Burj Al Arab is on the island to the right.

That golden domed building was a central train station which access the full subway system that ran around the map. Also, under water / ground we had an elaborate city accessible through the base of that tower at the end. The big white block is a pretty sweet performing arts theater. It featured an 8 story underground gold vault. That tan / blue building was inspired by 60 Wall St.

Here's a shot of the city we had started building.

I ran a server with tons of mods (who remember's bukkit? That was the best / last of the mods I used) but still with the height limit at 127 blocks and ground being about half that, scyscrapers weren't easy. I used to play a ton of minecraft years ago.
MINECRAFT SKYSCRAPER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
I will update this as the city progresses. I will post photos of my other cities later.

If you want to visit the actual map, find Minecraft classic and join the server "Z II" and type /g pm_kelbeen.Īlso, if you want to share your Minecraft creations feel free to share them on this thread also!īridge on foreground with the beach city: I differentiate residential, office, and hotels with different styles of building. All creative buildings are original so there's no recreations besides the typical buildings you see. Although I'm not finished with the city I would love to take suggestions from others. Minecraft is a first-person player game where players build with blocks. Well I'm happy share my city on Minecraft. I'm new to posting on the forums (although I've been following this for years).
